Sipp providing solid relief
BALTIMORE -- Tony Sipp threw a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's game and now hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 11 innings. He's only given up one run overall during that stretch and just two runs (one earned) in his last 15 games.
The left-hander has been consistent throughout the season, not allowing any of his 12 inherited runners to score -- tied with Jamey Wright for second most in the American League.
In addition, Sipp has held batters to a .160 average, sixth best among AL relievers.
