CLEVELAND -- The Indians' All-Star representative has been announced. No, not the one who will be on the American League roster at next month's Midsummer Classic, but the member of the community who will be honored as one of the "All-Stars Among Us" on July 13 at Angel Stadium.
Terry Grahl, from Taylor, Mich., was chosen by fans across the nation for her community service through Enchanted Makeovers, a nonprofit organization that refurbishes shelters for women and children. Enchanted Makeovers provides new paint, handmade items and furnishings for the shelters and also does national outreach to raise awareness of the plight of women and children in shelters. Grahl was nominated by a staff member at Laura's Home, a crisis center branch of the City Mission in Cleveland. Each club will have an "All-Stars Among Us" representative. They'll attend and be honored during the pregame ceremony at the 81st All-Star Game, which will begin at 8 p.m. ET July 13 in Anaheim. About 1.7 million votes were cast nationwide for the "All-Stars Among Us" campaign.
