Choo goes deep against Dodgers

Dodgers at the plate: Larry Bigbie's two-run, RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Russell Martin and James Loney came around to score from first on right fielder Casey Blake's fielding error to give the Dodgers the victory. Nomar Garciaparra doubled in Loney and Juan Pierre in the fifth inning. Loney had three hits.

Indians at the plate: Shin-Soo Choo slugged a two-run homer with one out in the eighth inning. Casey Blake singled and was doubled home by Victor Martinez in the first inning.

Dodgers on the mound: Starter Jason Schmidt struggled with his control, but kept damage to a minimum. He allowed one run in the first inning and escaped the third inning without a run despite allowing a double and three walks. He was charged for one run in five innings. Rudy Seanez, pitching for the first time this spring on consecutive days, had his first tough outing, allowing a two-run homer in the eighth.

Indians on the mound: Starter Jake Westbrook allowed two runs in six innings. Jason Davis pitched one scoreless inning. Rafael Betencourt pitched 1 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Grapefruit League records: Dodgers 16-11; Indians 13-11-1.

Up next: The Dodgers' Brad Penny, who missed his last start with stiffness at the top of his pitching shoulder, starts Monday night against the Mets at Port St. Lucie. Penny is still scheduled to start Game 4 of the regular season at San Francisco.
