The Ohio State and Michigan hockey teams are finalizing plans to play each other at Cleveland's Progressive Field early next year, a source told The Associated Press.
The home of the Indians -- which seats 43,000 for a baseball game -- is expected to be put on ice in January. It would be the first major outdoor hockey game in the state of Ohio.
The Indians have not made an announcement about the game.
The two rival teams are members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Michigan advanced to the NCAA title game this past season before falling to Minnesota-Duluth in overtime.
Last year, the Wolverines also participated in "The Big Chill at the Big House," an outdoor hockey game against rival Michigan State which drew more than 100,000 fans to Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
