Cabrera scratched against Texas with sore wrist

CLEVELAND -- Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera was scratched from Saturday's lineup with a sore right wrist.

Cabrera was in the original lineup, but was removed about an hour before the Indians' game against Texas. Jason Donald replaced Cabrera at short and batted eighth.

Cabrera, a two-time All-Star, has struggled in the second half, batting .242 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 45 games. He's batting .103 (4-for-39) in his last 11 games and is 2-for-23 on this homestand.

Manager Manny Acta has tried to help pull Cabrera out of the skid. He didn't play Monday and was the designated hitter Tuesday. Cabrera was back at shortstop Wednesday, but was ejected in the first inning for arguing with plate umpire Gary Darling after being called out on strikes.

Cabrera is batting .270 with 14 homers and 53 RBIs in 121 games. He has committed 17 errors after making 15 last season.
