The Jacksonville, FL native split the 2012 season between Houston and the Chicago White Sox, recording a combined ERA of 3.31 (65.1IP, 65H, 24ER, 15BB, 41K) and 19 saves over a career-high 70 relief appearances.  After being acquired by the White Sox at the trade deadline (July 21), he recorded 8 holds and an ERA of 3.12 (35G, 34.2IP, 30H, 12ER, .238AVG) over the first 35 games of his American League career.  He began his pro career out of high school in 1999 after being selected by Philadelphia in the first round (12th overall) of the June draft.
