Indians activate LHP Scott Kazmir


The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Activated LHP SCOTT KAZMIR from the 15-day Disabled List.

Optioned INF CORD PHELPS to AAA Columbus.


Kazmir was placed on the 15-day DL on April 2nd with an abdominal strain and made one rehab start on April 15 for AAA Columbus vs. Louisville in Huntington Park (W, 5.0IP, 5H, 1R/0ER, 0BB, 5K, 62 pitches).   He came to camp as a non-roster invitee and was subsequently added to the Major League roster on April 2nd.  The Houston, TX native went 1-0 w/a 3.46 ERA in 4 games/2 starts (13.0IP, 18H, 5R/ER, 1BB, 13K) this spring and will be making his first Major League start since April 3, 2011 tonight in Houston vs. the Astros.
