Indians recall LHP Scott Barnes


The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled LHP Scott Barnes from AAA Columbus.

Designated LHP David Huff for assignment.

Barnes begins his third stint (April 28, May 5-9) with Cleveland, posting an ERA of 4.50 in 3 relief outings to date with the Indians (4.0IP, 1H, 2R/ER, 2BB, 4K, .077AVG). With Columbus this season he is 2-2 with a 5.74ERA in 12 games, all in relief (15.2IP, 14H, 10ER, 8BB, 19K, .255AVG). He is averaging 10.9 strikeouts per 9.0IP with the Clippers and has limited Triple-A left-handed hitters to a .222 (4-18) average against.
