While the team was opening its Cactus League schedule in Goodyear, Ariz. (high of 81 degrees), the Indians were unveiling their fan-friendly initiatives for the 2014 season, including the Online Onsale for single-game tickets, a new family ticket option and a new Promo Pass initiative.
"This is a way that will make for a more enjoyable experience when our fans visit the ballpark this season," said Indians communications coordinator Joel Hammond.
Fans who register at Indians.com/OnlineOnSale will have first crack at single-game tickets, including the April 4 home opener against Minnesota. Fans can sign up and enter their contact information to receive access to the lowest prices on single-game tickets. Fans will receive a password with which they can access the OnSale on Monday. The deadline to sign up is Friday at noon ET.
The KeyBank Kids Value Tickets will give families a more affordable opportunity to come to the ballpark. This option gives children $15 value for use on concessions or merchandise. Tickets must be purchased with a full-price adult ticket and are limited to two kids tickets with each adult ticket. More details are available at Indians.com/KidsValue.
Carnegie Tickets, another new program this season, offers flexibility and value for fans, including a bonus depending on the amount of money fans deposit. Fans will make an initial investment into their Carnegie Tickets account, which they then can use to buy tickets over the course of the season, for any seating location and any game, subject to availability. Redemption is online only at CarnegieTickets.com, two business days in advance of the game.
After listening to fan feedback from the 2013 season, the Indians will implement a new Promo Pass program, which will allow fans to secure promotional items in advance without having to arrive at the ballpark early. By adding Promo Pass onto a ticket purchase for an additional $5, when fans arrive to the ballpark there will be a reserved promotional item waiting for them at a convenient redemption location just inside the gates, even if all the items at the gate have already been given out. The Indians have added a Michael Brantley bobblehead on Sept. 1 to the promotional schedule. Brantley, among the game's rising stars, signed a contract extension earlier this month through the 2017 season.
The winner of the Indians Fan Designed T-shirt Contest also was named Wednesday. After a week of voting, the winner is Greg Pennypacker's design, which features a white block C collage on a navy blue shirt. The T-shirt will be given away to 10,000 fans on Saturday, Sept. 6, when the Indians take on the Chicago White Sox, courtesy of Cleveland Clinic.
The day was capped off when Adam Gockowski was sworn in as Brohio Governor. He will be charged with leading Brohio -- in Section 117 at Progressive Field -- each Friday and Saturday this season.
