Indians announce 'Tribe Town Memories' fan initiative

|

Cleveland -- As part of the Cleveland Indians continued efforts to connect players to the organization's many generations of fans, the club has launched an exciting new initiative, "Tribe Town Memories."

Through Tribe Town Memories, fans can have their photos displayed in the tunnel leading from the home clubhouse at Progressive Field to the home dugout and field areas. The tunnel is used by players, managers and coaches multiple times each day as they arrive at the ballpark for Batting Practice and prepare for each day's first pitch.

To participate, fans can visit Indians.com/Memories beginning today to submit their photos using an easy photo upload form. Fans also have the option at that site to submit essays, video links and memory descriptions that will accompany their photo memories in an online gallery on Indians.com.

Photos not chosen for the clubhouse mural still will be featured online for Tribe fans to share and enjoy. The deadline for fan memory submissions is April 21.

"I have a special affection for this team and this town. I spent my childhood here. I want every player on this ballclub to know what this team means to its fans and our city," said Indians Manager Terry Francona.

"As our guys walk out to the field, I want them to be reminded of the passion that our fans have for this team. I believe there's real power in that."
